Bahranian Sheikh suing Michael Jackson

Posted in celebrities, Music, news at 8:45 pm by Salah

Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa paid $7 million as a loan (I guess) to Michael Jackson’s Album and production that never saw the light; and now he is suing the king of pop for not paying him back. Michael, however, is saying that the money was a gift and not a lawn.

I remember hearing that Michael Jackson has a friend who is a sheikh at Bahrain; and that was one of the reasons why Michael Jackson moved to Bahrain for a while.

Here is the link.

Here is a fun post I found online on one of the forums. Even though the statements seems so true, it did not come from a credible source.

Yahoo publishes “15 worst movie lines ever”

Posted in celebrities, funny, movies, TV tagged , , at 7:40 pm by Salah

So do you think you’ve noticed how bad these lines when you saw the movies?

I personally don’t see what is silly about some of the bad lines mentioned below. However, there are some of the lines that you really can’t help thinking how stupid it was.

THE MOVIE: Notting Hill (1999)

THE SCENE: Famous Hollywood actress Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) is attempting to convince bookish William (Hugh Grant) to give her another chance.
THE LINE: ”I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” Read the rest of this entry »

LOST season four premiere

Posted in celebrities, news, review, TV tagged , , , , , , , , , at 12:40 pm by Salah

Many people think that they are not interested in this show, and they think to themselves what is different about this drama show than any other show that has ever been made in history? Well, if you want one reason to kick your interest up a notch then read this:

LOST pilot episode premiered on September 22, 2004. As for the cost of the pilot episode, it was “the most expensive pilot in television history,[1] primarily due to the expense of purchasing, shipping, and dressing the actual decommissioned aircraft body used to represent the wreckage. It cost between $10 and $14 million.[2] Both parts of the pilot earned high ratings, and the episode would later win many awards.” (wikipedia.com)

Yesterday, Thursday January 31, was the day of the premiere for season four of the famous show LOST. The show was aired on ABC channel with an hour of a recap for the past seasons, and then the first episode of season four. The name of the episode was greatly chosen, and it was “the beginning of the end.”

If you have been watching LOST from the beginning then you already know how the episode works with all the flashbacks and then back to current. However, you would also know that the last episode of LOST season three started a back-flip with using flash-forwards instead of the flashbacks.

The new season continues with the flash-forwards and continues also with the current situation on the island. But this time LOST is going rapid with the action. You will notice how they are losing the slow-style they used to have on the previous episodes. Nevertheless, you will not lose the beautiful sense of LOST that kept you wanting to know what the hell is going on.

If you didn’t watch LOST before, then this is your perfect time to watch it, because this season is the season finale.

Update: season four is not the season finale, but season six is. Thanks Spicy Pepper.

Screen Actors Guild Awards

Posted in celebrities, movies, Music, news, occasions, TV tagged , , , , , at 12:42 pm by Salah

Yesterday TBS aired the Screen Actors Guild Awards for 2008.

I was so interested to watch the ceremony because there were many actors and actresses that I like. Of course my DVR screwed me up by not recording the whole thing, but I got to watch some of the main things that I wanted to watch. There were shows and people that I never knew before or didn’t know them very well, and there were my favorite actors and shows. So my judgments is only based on my own knowledge and perceptions.

I was disappointed to see Steve Carell lose the “Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series award” to Alec Baldwin,’30 Rock.’

However, “The Office” team won the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.” The strange thing is that the spokesperson the chose for the award was Jenna Fischer (Pam). It should have been Steve Carell (Michael). Well, she wasn’t bad anyway.

You can check out the whole award news and winning list and more on this [link].

White Noise

Posted in celebrities, movies, personal, review, TV at 3:46 pm by Salah

I watched the movie that I always wanted to watch, White Noise. Every time I see it on TV or on the shelves of Blockbuster I get eager to watch, but in the same time not very confident that it will be satisfying. At first I thought the movie was made around 1996 or something because I never knew that Geoffrey Sax Michael Keaton did a movie recently. The movie turned to be a 2005 movie.

After I came back from the movies for “Meet the Spartans,” which is one hell of a crappy movie that will have its own post, I sat down and watched “White Noise.”

I can sum up the whole thing by telling you that I was very satisfied for watching this movie, and as usual, Geoffrey Sax Michael Keaton did not disappoint at all.

This movie is about contacting the dead and receiving messages from them (one of my extreme interests). As Geoffrey’s Michael’s wife dies from a car accident, a guy shows up and tells Geoffrey that he has been in contact with his dead wife.

If I keep talking about the story I might spoil it. However, this little part that I mentioned is what made eager to watch the movie. I promise you, if you love these kinds of stories and movies, you will love White Noise. Oh by the way, this whole contacting the dead is something true and the movie mentions some things about it in real life.

At first I had The Exorcism of Emily Rose as the only scariest movie I have ever watched, and now White Noise comes in second.

Watch it!

Human-Beatboxing’s king

Posted in art, celebrities, Music, talent at 12:26 pm by Salah

This is Roxorloops the human-beatboxer. There is also another two videos when you click “read the rest of the post.” To the people who have no idea what is human-beatboxing, it is the art of producing beatboxing and tones from the mouth. I first saw that kind of art by coincidence, but then I started to get really interested in these stuff that now I’m looking for battles between champions.

Roxorloops, who is from Belgium, is so far my favorite beatboxer. It is amazingly one of the most interesting talents that I have ever seen.

Here’s two parts of Roxorloops’ video rocking on stage! Read the rest of this entry »

Thank you for the ride…

(If you don’t want to spoil the last episode of King of Queens’ finale, don’t read this post)

Ever since I discovered “The king of Queens” I became obsessed with the show and, specifically, with Kevin James. I don’t even know how to start describing how much I love that show.

Whenever it’s lunch or dinner time and I am staying home, there is a 99% chance that I will be watching “The King of Queens” while eating. This is a habit that I think I can’t get it off me. I won’t be able to start eating unless I found the perfect episode of the show. Read the rest of this entry »

Double shot mornings with Samantha Brown

Posted in celebrities, food, TV at 8:36 pm by Salah

This summer I got a little bit addictive to two things; Starbucks doubleshot coffee and Samantha Brown’s show, “Great Hotels.”

I never thought that such small things would turn your whole day into a good happy day.

Usually in the summer if I wasn’t traveling around, I would stay up after midnight probably till 4:00 AM.

However, this summer I woke up one day at 9:00 AM and bought me the Double shot, tuned into the travel channel and played some nice song (Fairuz, sa2alony el nas). Samantha also has this smile that tells you “good morning” which makes you smile back and reply with “good morning to you too Samantha Brown.”

I liked it so much that I started sleeping early just to wake up in the morning and repeat this relaxation process. Now that school is back in few days, I know what will make me go to school in a good mood.

I recommend you all to try it.
