Good Gum

Posted in food, review at 10:29 am by Salah

How often do you find yourself enjoying a chewing gum significantly, that you actually say “that’s one delicious gum, what is it?”

That’s what happened to me when I had the one in the pic, a mix of pineapple and watermelon flavour. So good, so refreshing, and so colorful!

Maki Kuwait, keeps disappointing me

Posted in food, kuwait, review at 4:35 pm by Salah

The first time i visited Maki was 3 years ago at marina. Although the place was great, the service wasn’t something to be proud of. To this day, i remember the dull face our waiter had the whole time he waited our table. The reason, however, that made me decide not to go there again was the bad pricing. It was just for a person who tried many sushi places in the states, too expensive.

For some reason, few years later, i decided i want to give Maki another shot after i have tried places like wasabi and osaka. Guess what, Maki still beats them with the rediculous prices, and the food wasn’t special or even worth the price.

Today (2 years since my last visit to Maki), a friend of mine suggested we hit Maki. i didn’t want to bitch about it, so i agreed. However, the prices are still the same, and the food as well. Next time anyone, and i mean ANYONE, who suggest to me Maki, i will easily turn down and refuse. It’s official, the place is just overpriced compared to osaka, which is way cheaper than Maki and the food is just as good if it wasn’t better.

Sorry for the vague review, but I’m blogging from my ipad, and I can’t go into so many details using it. Maybe I will review it and compare it in detail when I’m on my laptop.

My subway sandwich

Posted in food at 5:47 pm by Salah

A lot of times deciding what sandwich I want and what ingredients on it drives me crazy! Of course choosing the ingredients (veggies and sauce) is the hardest part.

That’s why i decided to contribute on helping everyone standing in Subway line by giving out my special sandwich recipe.

Type of sandwich:

Tuna on a parmesan oregano bread

Cheese:

Both american and cheddar

Veggies:

Tomattoes
Black olives
Onions
Jalapeno peppers

Sauce:

Both ranch and southwest sauce with a sprinkle of oregano on it.

Take the sandwich as it is and don’t toast it in the oven!

I call this sandwich “The king of short pump.”

Fast breaking is happening in 30 minutes, and I am still not done cooking the food. My cousin is going to yetfa6ar with me and he is bringing some stuff too. He’s also not done yet. I am starting to get impatient, so I decided to post something of what I am doing right now. I am re preparing the machboos of last time and also cooking my famous chicken Alfredo pasta. I wanted to post the cooking directions for both, machboos and chicken Alfredo, but I wasn’t ready yet. Next time enshalla. For now try to figure out the cooking process with these pics.

Double shot mornings with Samantha Brown

Posted in celebrities, food, TV at 8:36 pm by Salah

This summer I got a little bit addictive to two things; Starbucks doubleshot coffee and Samantha Brown’s show, “Great Hotels.”

I never thought that such small things would turn your whole day into a good happy day.

Usually in the summer if I wasn’t traveling around, I would stay up after midnight probably till 4:00 AM.

However, this summer I woke up one day at 9:00 AM and bought me the Double shot, tuned into the travel channel and played some nice song (Fairuz, sa2alony el nas). Samantha also has this smile that tells you “good morning” which makes you smile back and reply with “good morning to you too Samantha Brown.”

I liked it so much that I started sleeping early just to wake up in the morning and repeat this relaxation process. Now that school is back in few days, I know what will make me go to school in a good mood.

I recommend you all to try it.
